Specializing in Catastrophic Home Care

Catastrophic injuries that involve brain and spinal cord damage are serious and complex. Typically, they come with long-term or lifelong implications. Clients with catastrophic injuries will likely require long-term medical care and, unfortunately, may have difficulty returning to work and resuming the activities of daily living. In addition to the physical pain and emotional impact of catastrophic injuries, the financial consequences may be overwhelming.

At Professional Case Management (PCM), we understand the physical, psychological and financial burdens brought on by catastrophic injuries. It’s a difficult time for clients and families alike. With our personalized, compassionate approach, we provide professional care and unwavering support to the people we serve—all in the comfort of their own home.

For over 30 years, our services have helped clients gain confidence, independence and new hope for the future. As the largest in-home healthcare company for workers’ compensation clients in the U.S., PCM has cared for thousands of high-acuity clients across the nation. With over 3,000 Nurses and Caregivers on staff, we have the knowledge, experience, and resources for any catastrophic care needs. Our high standard of respect provides trust, comfort, and peace of mind during these difficult times.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
A traumatic brain injury is defined as damage to the brain resulting from external mechanical force, such as rapid acceleration or deceleration, impact or penetration by a projectile. TBIs may be mild, moderate or severe depending on the injury.

Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
A spinal cord injury is damage to the spinal cord that causes changes in its function, either temporarily or permanently. These changes translate into loss of muscle function, sensation or autonomic function in parts of the body served by the spinal cord below the level of the injury.

Workers’ Comp Injuries
A worker’s comp injury is one that happened while a person was doing something on behalf of their employer, or otherwise during the course of employment. These injuries can occur in the workplace environment itself, as well as in company-owned vehicles or other locations outside the workplace—as long as the activity is work-related.

PCM has extensive experience working with clients with TBIs, SCIs and other catastrophic injuries. Whether it’s providing clients with personal care services, assisting in nursing care or simply giving families some reprieve, we’re here to help.

In-home healthcare is a desirable alternative to long-term care in facilities. Being at home with pets, loved ones and a familiar environment makes for a comfortable, safe feeling. It also keeps individuals relaxed, as they can maintain their freedom, independence and dignity.

In-home care also benefits families and friends. There are no visiting-hours restrictions, so guests can stop by any time. And with our experienced, considerate Nurses and Caregivers at PCM, families gain confidence and peace of mind knowing their loved ones are receiving professional, compassionate and personalized care in the comfort of their own home.
