RADIATION EXPOSURE
Uranium Miners, Mill Workers and Ore Transporters
The following are basic eligibility criteria:
Uranium Miners
- The eligible individual must have been employed in aboveground or underground uranium mines located in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming at any time during January 1, 1941 to December 31, 1971.
- The claimant must have been exposed to 40 or more working level months of radiation while employed in a uranium mine, or worked for at least one year in a uranium mine during the relevant time period.
- Compensable diseases include primary lung cancer and certain nonmalignant respiratory diseases.

Uranium Mill Workers
- The eligible individual must have been employed in aboveground or underground uranium mines located in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming at any time during January 1, 1941 to December 31, 1971.
- The claimant must have worked in a uranium mill for at least one year during the relevant time period.
- Compensable diseases include primary lung cancer and certain nonmalignant respiratory diseases, renal cancer, and other chronic relan disease including nephritis and kidney tubal tissue injury.

Uranium Ore Transporters
- The eligible individual must have been employed in aboveground or underground uranium mines located in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming at any time during January 1, 1941 to December 31, 1971.
- The claimant must have transported uranium ore for at least one year during the relevant time period.
- Compensable diseases include primary lung cancer and certain nonmalignant respiratory diseases, renal cancer, and other chronic renal disease including nephritis and kidney tubal tissue injury.

PLUTONIUM & BERYLLIUM EXPOSURE
Nuclear Weapons Plant Workers
The EEOICP provides compensation and benefits for covered employees as specified in Part B of the Program. See § 73841 Definitions for program administration for a detailed explanation.
Eligible persons include:
- A covered beryllium employee
- A covered employee with cancer
- A covered employee with chronic silicosis
- A covered atomic weapons employee
The claims process can be long and require employment and medical history documentation.

BLACK LUNG SUPPORT
Coal Miners
The Black lung qualification standards for extended hour (chronic care) private duty in-home nursing include:
- The completion of a Certification of Medical Necessity completed by a patient's physician and approved by the National Office of Workers Compensation Programs Department of Labor
- Arterial blood gas PO2 level of 60mmHg or below or
- Pulmonary Function Study FEV that is 40 percent or less of predicted levels
